L'IMMAGINE DELL'ANIMALE, an exhibition

The image of the animal, Works in Ticino from the mid-nineteenth to the twentieth century. The Fondazione Museo Mecrì proposes a collective exhibition on the theme of the animal world, which has always represented the experience of human life since its creation. In this exhibition, the close link between man and animal is represented with sculptural works and various paintings by artists from Ticino and from other cantons later established in Ticino.
The exhibition is accompanied by the catalogue of the artworks with texts by Paolo Blendinger and Diego Stephani.
The exhibition is open from 23 september 2019 to 26 january 2020

From 27 September 2015 to 10 January 2016, the Pinacoteca Casa Rusca dedicates an exhibition to Felice Filippini. This initiative is part of the policy of attention and valorisation of Ticinese artists that the museum has recently undertaken and intends to pursue in the coming years.
The Municipality, the Culture Commission and the Pinacoteca Casa Rusca of the town of Locarno is pleased to invite you to the inauguration of the exhibition Felice Filippini Saturday 26 September 2015 at 5:00 p.m.

RED SKY AT NIGHT - The Felice Filippini Archives are holding a reading of Felice Filippini's story Red Sky at Night, in nine weekly episodes.
The original Italian typewritten script of Rosso di sera (Red Sky at Night) is held in the Filippini Collection in the Lugano Cantonal Library's Contemporary Culture Archives. It comprises 16 pages, all marked with numerous alterations in the author's own hand.

For a production unit like Rete Due, the existence of such cultural institutions as the City of Lugano's Historical Archives can provide an interesting resource, because of both the papers it preserves and its work of researching and republishing audio files.
On the occasion of the exhibition Ticino-Tessin. La Fiera Svizzera di Lugano (1933-1953) hosted in Villa Ciani until 12 January 2014, the programme Colpo di Scena is transmitting Felice Filippini's first work for the stage, Di fiera in fiera (From Fair to Fair), written in 1945 for the newly-established experimental department, a total of 14 scenes in a variety of styles that illustrate the Lugano institution's first ten years using a series of anthropological cross-sections...

During an election campaign a long time ago, a charge pressed by a labourer who has been slapped without reason risks compromising the political image of the local boss. An errand boy is sent to the obstinate labourer... But something happens to change events...

The guests on today's live edition of Il punto are Pietro Montorfani, a researcher in the City of Lugano's historical archives, and Francesca Giorzi, who manages the Drama Department at our radio; they are accompanied by our colleague Orazio Martinetti, who has written a study of how Ticino used to be between the thirties and the fifties of the last century.
The three of them will be describing how they, as different observers, view what was Canton Ticino's most important economic event and at the same time the leading cultural event for all Italian Switzerland for twenty years...

The Municipality of Faloppio, in the province of Como, just a few kilometres past the border, is devoting an exhibition to Felice Filippini, an outstanding - and often controversial - exponent of the culture of Canton Ticino and of Switzerland in the last century ...
The event features a score of large-scale works, paintings on canvas and on Masonite dedicated to a variety of topics: crucifixions, embraces, dance, a cellist, tragedies (Auschwitz, Biafra) and the art of Alberto Giacometti.
The exhibition inaugurates on 18 May and lasts until 10 June; open on Thu-Fri-Sat 4-7 p.m. and on Sun 10-12 a.m. and 3-7 p.m.

The new RSI studio at Lugano-Besso was inaugurated on 31 March 1962 in the presence of the Cantonal and Federal authorities. To mark the occasion, the RSI management had commissioned Felice Filippini, then head of the spoken department, and the composer Wladimir Vogel to write a work to be performed during the gala concert on the historical day. Filippini decided to write a piece inspired by the life and work of Amedeo Modigliani, starting by meditating on the painter's death mask now preserved in the Museum of Modern Art in Paris...
